Did you catch the Mobile Lede last week? Hereâs what you might have missed
Last week, the Mobile Lede covered the heat – it’s not over yet — a crisis in the shrimping industry and a labor dispute at the port – among many other local stories. Here are just five examples of what you missed if you didn’t read the Lede last week:
· In our Sunday Q&A Mobile County Public Health Officer Dr. Kevin Michaels gave the lowdown on why the spiking temperatures are can be more than just an inconvenience.
· Lede reporter Margaret Kates talked to Bayou La Batre shrimpers who fear for their livelihood in the face of competition from big foreign firms
· Kates also continued her reporting on a Loxley wedding venue which is suing Baldwin County over its business license – with a big TV deal hanging in the balance.
· Last week marked the debut of the Lede College Football Picks contest. If you’re a fan, check it out.
· And as a labor dispute arose at the Port of Mobile, Kates looked into the cause of the disagreements between dock workers and APM Terminals.
There’s a lot more in every issue of the daily Lede. And each edition has a page designed to tell you how to navigate The Lede. It even has a cool YouTube video.
